The secret to our famously unique “Nashville-style” pizza, is using only the freshest, most natural, highest-quality ingredients and processes from start to finish. We start with freshly made dough every day, never frozen, and slow proofed like dough’s in high-end bakeries, allowing the flavors to develop. Then it’s sealed with a layer of rich, real olive oil. The secret is also in the sauce—our pizza sauce is made of Italian Pear Tomatoes, fresh packed at the fields at the peak of ripeness and never frozen; naturally sweet garlic; real olive oil; and a combination of spices and sea salt. We continue with cheeses shredded and blended for the ultimate in flavor and freshness. And, we know our cows –we get “single dairy” cheese made by the same cows every week to ensure an unparalleled consistency in taste and quality. Lastly, we chop our fruits, vegetables, and meats daily to ensure the highest quality product for our customers. That’s how we define A Fresh New Level of Incredible.

OUR HISTORY

PieInTheSkyPizza began as a dream for founders Kelly and Caroline Black. The Blacks envisioned creating a truly unique "Nashville-Style" pizza; worthy of the praise previously reserved for the big city pizzas of New York and Chicago. After months of research and endless hours at home in their kitchen in Franklin, Tenn., the Blacks believed they had created a truly unique product. The first PieInTheSkyPizza restaurant location opened in February 2001. Customers soon proved this pie in the sky dream to be a reality.

Within months, PieInTheSkyPizza was voted Best Pizza in Nashville by bestofnashville.com, and customer support was so strong, the restaurant soon outgrew its original location. So, the dream grew and again was realized with the opening of a new Cool Springs location in January 2004. PieInTheSkyPizza fans could now enjoy this truly unique and "fast becoming famous" pizza in an equally unique environment appealing to families, couples and kids of all ages. The Blacks stretched their wings to provide customers with two additional PieInTheSkyPizza locations in Nashville.

In May of 2007, another chapter in the PieInTheSkyPizza saga began. The local residents have flocked to the Lenox Village location for the great food and atmosphere that PieInTheSkyPizza has come to be known for. Who could blame them?

In October of 2008, a third PieInTheSkyPizza opened in Midtown Nashville serving Vanderbilt and Music Row, on Lyle Ave just off of West End. PieInTheSkyPizza offers our first late night menu at this location and delivers the full menu to the downtown area.
