The Big Dream of PieInTheSkyPizza Begins…

PieInTheSkyPizza started as a dream. The dream of owners Kelly and Caroline Black was to bring a truly incredible pizza to the Nashville area in an upscale setting that would appeal not just to families but also to couples and kids of all ages.

The first order of business was creating a pizza worthy of the kind of praise reserved for the ‘big city’ pizzas of Chicago and New York. The key to creating great Nashville-style pizza was to always insist on the highest food quality possible. So, after months of research and endless hours at home in their kitchen in Franklin, the Blacks hit on a truly winning combination of hand-made sauce, slow proofed dough, the highest quality aged cheeses and the freshest toppings around.

On Valentine’s Day 2001, the dream became a reality and the first PieInTheSkyPizza opened to rave reviews. It was even voted Best Pizza in Nashville just a few months after opening. Customer support was so strong and steady PieInTheSky had soon outgrown its original location and a move had to be made.

In January of 2004, a new and improved Cool Springs location of PieInTheSky opened and the amazing growth continued. The incredible food remained unchanged, but other creature comforts were added:

• Seating for 200
• A large, private, 60-person party room
• A kid’s dough bar
• Sidewalk seating
• A full-service bar with a wide range of bottled beers, wine, and mixed drinks
• HDTVs

As a result, the Galleria Boulevard location was voted Best Family Friendly restaurant in all of Nashville by CitySearch in 2006 & 2007. A big dream that started in a little kitchen in Franklin Tennessee has grown into some of the best food and atmosphere in the South East. Come join us and see what PieInTheSky is all about.

In May of 2007, another chapter in the PieInTheSkyPizza saga began. Our Lenox Village location opened and the lure of truly amazing pizza caused the same furor here that it had created in Franklin since 2001. The local residents have flocked to our newest location for the great food and atmosphere that PieInTheSky has come to be known for. Who could blame them?

Besides offering the same great menu as our Galleria Boulevard location, our Lenox Village location of PieInTheSky features:

• Seating for 110
• A private, 25-person party room
• The ‘Star Bar’ – an elevated, 40-person bar with an extensive wine list, a great mix of bottled beers and beer on tap and daily specials on margaritas and martinis.. and 3 Hi Def TVs
• An outdoor patio with seating for 50
• A kid’s dough bar
• Sports in Hi Def

In October of 2008, Pie In the Sky Pizza we opened our 3rd location, located in Midtown Nashville serving Vanderbily and Music Rown, On Lyle Ave just off of West End. We extensively renovated the old Longhorn steakhouse adding a huge indoor / outdoor patio making a new 200 seat pizza reastaurant. We are offering our first late night menu and delivering our full menu to the downtown area. Here are some of the great features at our newest reastaurant.
